The Witness is a web change monitoring service that captures screenshots of public web pages and provides AI-powered semantic analysis of changes. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
You may use The Witness to monitor publicly accessible web pages. You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@thewitness.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your data: You retain ownership of all data you provide to the service, including monitor configurations and custom analysis settings. You grant us a limited license to process this data to deliver the service.
Our platform: The Witness platform, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is our intellectual property. Screenshots captured by the service are of third-party web pages; we claim no ownership of the underlying content.
AI analysis: The analysis reports generated by our AI are provided as part of the service. You may use, share, and distribute these reports freely.
The Witness offers three tiers:
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months, but we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on first subscriptions.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, or third-party outages may temporarily affect functionality. We will communicate planned downtime when possible.
AI-generated analysis is provided for informational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, AI analysis may occasionally misinterpret page changes. You should not rely solely on automated analysis for critical business decisions without independent verification.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Witness and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of monitored third-party web pages.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
By you: You can delete your account at any time from Settings. All data is permanently removed upon deletion, including monitors, screenshots, change reports, and alert configurations.
By us: We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these terms, abusive behavior, or non-payment. We will provide reasonable notice when possible.
We may update these terms as our service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Spain.
